A really stupid kitten/preg cat question

Right, so our female mog is due in 2 weeks.
She has the box all prepared and is sleeping / mardy bitch / eating. Delete as appropriate.

When the kitten are born, I HOPE they are born in a box upstairs and mog is sleeping, eating, spending most of her time up here....
What happens to the kittens wee and poo? Am I aving to turf mummy cat out of the box to change the towels and blankets?
I don't want to disturb her. She is eating like a horse and has got through a whole bag of Purina kitten food in a week, plus Whiskas puches.

Where do the kittens poo and wee? Am I up for disturbing mummy to change blankets?
Does she eat it?

IIRC the mummy cat licks their bits to stimulate them to wee and poo and then she eats it

Thank goodness I'm not a cat!

Yes Mum cleans them up until theyre a good few weeks old and roaming around, at which point you can start training them

Good luck, kittens are FUN

my cat cleaned up after her babies probably for about the first 5 weeks

The kittens are 7 weeks old now and are using a litter tray now

they don't poo until they start solids at 4/5 weeks, up until that the mother cat licks their bums to stimulate pee and drinks it (rather bizarrely older kittens will help mom with this, we've twice had older male kittens help the mother cat with childcare and kitten cleaning!)

as soon as they start to poo all you have to do is catch on in the act, pop it in the tray and it and all the others will automatically start using the tray, easy peasy!
