Dog scooting along the ground

Hi,

Can anyone suggest why my tibetan terrier is scooting along the ground on his bum? He had his anal glands checked at the vets recently and they are fine. I have wormed him in the last 2 weeks, so I don't think he has worms.

He has been diagnosed as having hypothyroidism, but I am not sure if dragging his bum on the floor is a symptom of this!

Any advice would be great.
Thanks very much.

my first suggestion would've have been worms, so not entirely sure. could you phone vets to check ig it is a sympotm of hypothyroidism?

It's normally when they need a poo or have just been to clean themselves if it itches. Well that's what we've been told before. shouldn't do it very often though if he does would call the vet and double check. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to give more advice than I have.

How recently were his glands checked? If they are problematic they can flare up again fairly quickly.

Plenty of fibre in his diet and regular exercise can help manage the problem in the long term.
