I have a lovely 4 month old Tibetan Terrier who has major separation anxiety (with me) and is a typically naughty puppy. We didnt want to use a crate with him but in the week and a half since we have had him we have realised there is no other way to train him as he is truly unstoppable and will not leave my side. So we got a crate, it is supposed to be delivered today. I have done my research and read up on how to do it properly but I am really nervous!

It's the right thing to do, as is obedience training if you haven't started already.

yes we are starting obedience tonight (possibly)

I say possibly because I have doubts about the trainer.

But if not her it will be another who is back from holiday in 2 weeks whom I do like. I am just eager to start ASAP

You can start your obedience now anyway....

Get a titbit.

Show it to puppy.

Wave it up and under your chin, saying 'look!'.

Pup's eyes follow titbit.

Pup now looking at you.

Repeat little and often, progressing to no titbit, or random titbit.

You now can get pup's attention when needed.

Lol - forgot to say, give tibit once pup looking at you
