Two things about owning a dog for the first time

Now I have a dog I see millions of people with dogs that I didn't notice before

and

I never realised how many people hate dogs
I have noticed on here and now I'm concerned that I'm going to piss people off in the real world purely by owning a dog

I mean would never let Duke annoy anyone
I pick up every poop. I dont take him where he is not allowed. I lead him when its neccessary. I ensure he doesn't jump up at anyone. If he runs to another dog who is also off the lead I call him back to gain time to speak to the other owner to find out if they are ok with the dogs playing.

but it seems that just owning one would annoy people
I dont like annoying people

A lot of people need to relax about dogs.

there's something really really freakishly wrong with people who don't like animals

hope that is of some comfort

you only notice the people because the sun is out! in the middle of winter there are only a few hardy people out with their dogs (remember my tip about buying another wardrobe to accommodate your winter walking clothes!)
so how is it going...

Don't worry. It's their problem if they don't like dogs. We went for a walk in Exmoor yesterday and there were quite a lot of famillies around and a springer spaniel with a colar and tag was playing near the stream and picking up rocks in its mouth.
My DD2 who is 4yrs old, loved playing with this dog and i just thought the owners were very relaxed.
On the way back, the dog was there but no owners, turns out that the poor dog was waiting for someone to let it through the gate so it could go home.
It lived in the village down the lane as it went straight home once we let it out, it had been following people wanting to be let out!
My DDs do want a dog, but we have two cats at the moment and they tease them mercilessly so best to wait until they are at least 10yrs old.
True about people who don't like animals of any kind, they are freaky!
