Seeing as I am in a ranting mood today, here's my next one.

I live in a small village where there are loads of ducks. In the street where I am there is a grass verge where they sit/sleep etc, one of my neighbours has been having a new kitchen installed and I think the person installing it has driven their van up on to the grass verge (which is another gripe because it so long and the council haven't cut it) and squashed a duck to its death. The poor thing has been lying there since Monday and is now starting to rot and flies are swarming around it. Anyway I have to walk past it everyday and dd is getting more and more upset. Sorry about duck
Have you tried phoning your local councillor. At this time of year, with local and national elections looming, they will do anything. Tell him/her that you and your friends feel that appearance of village an issue etc and get them to send grass cutters and ? round to clear up health hazard.

Ha, I went to collect DD from school and the poor duck had gone. My rant at the woman from the council must have done the trick. Will try the councillor for the grass cutting tho....
