Kittens peeing everywhere except on litter - any advice???

Have 2 kittens - 10wks old - and they insist on peeing (etc!) behind the tv, on the rug, in their bed etc. Have tried pepper on the floor, tin foil, orange peel (they peed all the more on that!) and numerous bottles of water strategically placed around the tv/dvd/sky etc wires - all failed!! I know when they need 'to go' and if I scoop them up before they wee and put them on the litter they'll do it on there, but won't go on themselves. Mummy cat is useless, just watches them do it - probably thinking 'you decided to keep the, they're yours now!'!!!

Any hints or tips?? Asda probably thinking I'm addicted to Dettox as an alcohol substitute at the moment

scrub clean then spray surgical spirit on to affected areas of carpet. wash their bedding if poss. get to a pet store-and buy SWIFTIE -bottles of drops for training puppies and kittens, you put drops onto their ltter and theyre drawn to it, i found it helped and i had 6 kittens! make sure you have litter tray in each room if poss(they tend to forget where it is/dont have time to find it.

(many cleaning products/chemicals mimic the smell of the urine and will make the kittens go in those places even more)

Right, stop all the orange peel, water bottles etc.Dont work.
Clean the areas with diluted BIOLOGICAl washing liquid in spray bottle. Leave to soak, then when dry, repeat.

Also change the litter. Whatever you are using, stop. I find cats not keen on clumping type litter as they cannot fling it around which they love. Mine like Catsan non clumping white litter or Tesco version of it.

Keep placing thrm in try and move their paws in it so they get the idea, they wil soon pick it up!
