dog is old but in good health,

passed his doggie MOT in jan with flying colours,

he loves food, he knows what time 5pm is everyday,

he laps up a small bowl of skimmed milk every morning and woofs his hand full of dog treats,

every night he cleans the plate and kicks it about the kitchen for maximum effect,

i am worried

he so far has refused 2 nights dinners, 2 mornings milk and treats,

as a last attempt i offered him a tin of salmon with no joy (he never turns down tuna or salmon, even when ill)

he is drinking lots of water and seems to have no obvious mobility problems,

i am thinking of taking him to the vet tomorrow,

any advice?

I don't know but best take him to the vets for your peace of mind. Any chance he's eaten something he shouldn't and got a blockage?

i wondered that too,

dds toys are all over the place,

he has never even picked anything of hers up but i guess you never know,

he keeps on standing at the back door for the loo but doesnt seem to go when he gets out in the garden,

maybe a blockage,

had one once before when he was a puppy,

thanks

Let me know how you get on - I'm watching this thread

he went to the vets today,

they took bloods as they were worried about his liver, kidney or diabetes,

they came back clear and the vet said he was in great condition for an old dog,

vet says if his food has gone down but his water intake is up to keep an eye but as the blood tests are good hopefully nothing to worry about,

the vet did say that when he tried to pick dog up and place on vets table he did a huge big fart

vet thinks he may have eaten something off and his tummy has been upset since,

big fart seems to have worked,

he has eaten his dinner tonight

can i just post and say...

that fecking fart cost me near on £70

how old is he?
mine (14yrs) stopped eating her food at christmas but would still have the odd titbit and treat at night-time. Thought she was kidding me!
We thought she had a blockage and yes, we thought she had wind in her belly.
Blood tests came back clear,
x-ray came back clear,
you'd never guess how much I longed for the bedroom to smell of dog farts the night before she went in!!
she had an op as belly swelled and appt for a scan would have been 2 weeks away. Vet operated and what we thought was wind causing it to swell, was actually fluid in her stomach. This explained the yellow sick she kept bringing up. But he also found a mass, pressing on her stomach, which explained why she couldn't eat.
Keep us posted please... thinking of u all.
