One of my kittens has disappeared

He was in the house at 5pm and he and his brother were in and out of the garden but when I called them at 6pm only one came. We have searched the whole area, called and called and checked everywhere we can think of - no kitten.
I have made some posters to put up if he hasn't returned in the morning. What else can I do? He isn't microchipped yet - the vet was going to do it next month when he neuters them - so there is no way of identifying him.
I know this sounds pathetic but we have all been close to tears tonight, I can't bear the thought of him not coming back.

Oh no! It's not cold so he should be okay. Maybe he wandered off and snuggled down somewhere to sleep. Hope you get him back.

DH is going out for a last look before bed. I can't believe how much I love that damn kitten. We've only had them a couple of months.

If theyve been in and out of the house, have you checked any nooks and crannies?
When ours was tiny, he used to love getting through the tiniest hole at the back of the fire. We used to panic a bit, but he always came out.

Yes, he does like climbing into stuff but I've checked all over the house, all the cupboards and everything and called and called. I think I would have heard him miaow if he was stuck inside somewhere.

Could he be in a neighbour's shed?

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 23/03/2009 10:39

WE'VE FOUND HIM!!!
DH was out putting up posters this morning when DD1 and her friend came back down the road from school - they had found him wandering aimlessly around the school grounds - the silly little plonker. Very affectionate but none too bright.
He is fast asleep now, his brother keeps jumping on him to try to wake him up, but he is not budging.
And I do hope DD1 wasn't late for class as a result of her rescue - although I reckon she would think it worth getting a detention for.

WOW!
A cat who goes to school?

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 23/03/2009 10:51

I know. How do I explain to him that we would rather home educate him?
