Bitches in season - how do you cope?

This is the second season Pebs has had. Last one she dripped blood for a day, and it was not too bad. This time, she has been leaving puddles everywhere. We will be getting her spayed in a few months time, but in the meantime, how do you cope?

Is there a mooncup for dogs?

We used to get lots of old blankets and put them on the floor where we didn't want the blood.
This was just living room as everywhere else was tiled.

We have got laminate flooring which is great as you just wash and go! The hard part is keeping the dog in for a few days or a week and then all the attention after...
We keep meaning to get her spayed but now she is 12 it seems a bit unfair.

I have put a few old towels down, but our DS who is coming up 2 has been slinging them everywhere and trying to wrap himself up in them

We have tield kitchen and laminate in room, but 2 rooms are carpeted.

Perhaps confine her to the tiled rooms and get her a basket which she HAS to stay in with you? Then no dog in basket, no basket on floor should stop your LO.

Good luck

(Hi GB, you okay?)

Gingerbear · 08/03/2009 21:41

I am good. Busy with RL! Don't get on here much these days. You?

we've got a cocker spaniel who has heavy bleeds. I looked at dog sanitary products but they are really expensive and more importantly didn't work very well. So I bought her some cheap childrens pants, cut a hole for her tail and use sanitary towels!
It sounds ridiculous and looks it too tbh, but we have wood floors in some of house and the blood really stains.

I hang out on the music thread and a couple of other places mostly. When I get really brave I post on threads like this!!
