My family has just grown again.

Originally there was DH and me.

Then there was a Newfie (chumley)

3 children later the newfie died (aged 9) leaving us all distraught

We then got a rescue kitten - Jasmine (6 months old and beautiful) from RSPCA and 6 months later a lovely (10 week old) German lop eared rabbit (Nico) that is now enormous and lives in the house and another (8 week old) kitten (Tilly).

Move on a year and a half and yesterday we welcomed a new addition to the family!

A lovely gold and white (8 week old) syrian female hamster who my daughter has named "Honey". She is so cute! I spent most of yesterday just watching her (like you do a new born baby!)

The cats sat next to her licking their lips yesterday but couldn't care less today that she is still there - thankfully!

She has a rotastak home that was a real PITA to put together but she seems happy in it.

I am so happy with my new "baby".

ah sweet, but won't she spend all day asleep? Being a hamster?

PaulaMummyKnowsBest · 06/02/2009 20:46

she has been awake to today

I guess because she is still a baby, she hasn't got the whole day and night thing working yet

My DD asked me if i could get Honey into a routine (I work as a maternity nanny) so that she can spend some time with her in daylight hours - bless her!
