just had to push and shove him out of the door for his last night wee

as he is about 10stone - this takes some effort from me

he doesnt like the cold and its very frosty tonight

he literally peed on the doorstep and came back in within seconds

Think yourself lucky! My bloody hounds want to go out for 5 mile yomps in every sort of weather- which means the 3 kids and I have to go too- aaargh!

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/01/2009 00:32

poor you - what age are your children?

fraid my wimp hates getting wet paws (rain) or cold (snow)

he has fur - what more does he want

My dane has to be persuaded to venture out when it's cold or raining. He's about 12 stone!

morethanyoubargainfor · 31/01/2009 08:38

my dog needs persuding to come in, if it is rainig etc! and if it is snowing he thinks all his christmases have come at once!
He is the same as jooly, come rain or shine we are out plodding through fields for 5-6 miles sometimes with DS as well.

bella29 · 31/01/2009 09:33

lol at your big wooss of a Bernese Mountain dog, Blondie! Does he know he was bred for sub zero temperatures?

My old girl is the same but she is only 25kg and is a soft londoner, so she has an excuse

edam · 31/01/2009 09:41

at your daft mutt.

As a child, I used to have to dig paths in the snow for my cats. They would NOT go outside otherwise - you could practically see the effort of holding on in their faces! Although I suppose cats are much closer to the ground, to be fair.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/01/2009 12:37

bella - i have had words with him and told him he has to go out - and yes he was bred for - 25+

he really has no brains - and is snoring now by the open fire - think hes like me and just wants to be warm

we are meant to have snow sunday night/early mon am-so sure he will be a wimp then

you have my deepest sympathies morethanyou baragainfor and jools - 5/6miles sounds like MY kind of AND in the rain/snow

oh you get used to it! after a while you can't get any wetter or colder!

It is lovely in the nice weather tho', we did 12 miles yesterday and it was great, especially as the sun was shining!

bella29 · 31/01/2009 18:49

Bit envious of mtybf's big long walks - I am deliberately restricting my lab puppy at the moment as his joints are still developing.

He's a bit of a girl's blouse too - avoids puddles at all costs - have tried telling him his ancestors used to help fishermen get their nets in but he's having none of it - I just get the big brown eyes treatment

Blondie: you need to knit yours a very big woolly jumper M

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/01/2009 19:05

yep we avoid puddles as well

honestly - he really doesnt know how easy he has it

we are opposite a pub and there is a huge fluffy alsation who lives there and the alsataion sleeps out in rain and snow - he can go indoors but landlord says he barks and waits by door to be let out

have told my wuss that i might leave him out for 20mins and he looks at me with brown chocolate melting eyes and i give in

I am tough with children but a soft tough with the woofa

get a spaniel
not only do they love going out but they bring most of the outdoors back in on their mud magnet feet!

AnarchyAunt · 31/01/2009 19:13

DP's Newfie cross is like this - when its raining he just stands and looks out of the door, then sort of huffs and goes back to sitting on the sofa

And if we drag him out for a walk on a wet day he tries to go round puddles rather than ge his toes wet - despite the fact if he sees a river or pond he's straight in there trying to 'rescue' rocks/bits of water weed/plastic bags

Wierdo.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/01/2009 19:37

oh yes woofa LOVES to hump in smelly dirty frog spawned pond/stream

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 31/01/2009 19:37

pmsl jump

though guess he would also love a hump if he found a bitch

his lipstick does come out every now and again

AnarchyAunt · 31/01/2009 19:50

[shudder] @ lipstick - the joys of boy dogs!

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/01/2009 20:44

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 01/02/2009 14:47
