Thinking of buying a rabbit. Any thoughts/advice?

Dp and I are thinking of buying a rabbit.

He would love a pet, pref a dog but that just isn't feasible really. We've thought of a rabbit though I would not want one in the house all of the time. I've looked at some websites eg RSPCA but I'm keen to hear any personal experiences.

Regular battery changes.

Wipe after each use.

Store out of the reach of dc and feign confusion as to just "What is it mummy?" if found .
