We only put ours in a cattery once but I remember the only reason we had them put in together was because it was cheaper (they didn't really get on that well but needs must).

why not consider home pet sitters?
No stress for the cat as they love being at home, and (well mine is) cheaper. Mine comes out x2 a day as well.

I think it is a great idea to be spending some time now looking for a good cattery,

we panicked the first time and chose the closest one and it was awful leaving her there.

After some research we have found one that is 30 minutes drive and all pens face a duck pond they have heated igloo things to sleep in if it is chilly.

When we had 2 they shared a pen and we got a %20 discount

perhaps ask on MN local if there is anywhere someone would recommend?
