can knock on the door - sounding scarily like a kid coming home from school.
And climb ladders

My cat can look like the most evil animal who ever lived, while simultaneously actually being the biggest softie ever. See pic on profile for evidence.

JeremyKylesLieDetector · 27/01/2009 14:09

LOL i adore him. I had a cat like that once.

Not as scary as Nanny Ogg's cat though? .

I am very of where you live.

Sorry to high jack thread - i have a lovely dog but more likely to be at the back of the class licking his bum than in G&T i'm afraid.

Our mad tortoise-shell (who is about 13 yrs old) cat will play "fetch" with a scrunched up crisp packet - you throw it, she runs after it, picks it up in her mouth, carries it back to you an will drop it back into your hand (or at you feet or in your lap if you try and ignore her).

MadreInglese · 27/01/2009 14:13

One of our cats is a wannabe premiership goalkeeper, he can leap up about four foot to catch flying balls/scrunched paper/kinder egg thingies. He can also cunningly disguise himself as a black jumper to avoid being found by DD.

The other one has an amazing ability to spread his long white hairs over every item of clothing you are wearing - even if you haven't been near him that day. He also thinks he's a dog and will follow us on walks, he even came trick or treating with us last year!

Containsmildperil...I don't live there, unfortunately, just holiday there with the in laws. Its Barra btw, in the outer Hebrides.

Pixel · 27/01/2009 19:05

Esme, my cat is the opposite, looks completely angelic and cuddly but in reality is a vicious brute .

But he can play fetch as well which is cute.

fruitshootsandheaves · 27/01/2009 19:08

My cat will sit on command and do a high five!
(usually only if you have something edible to give her though! she won' t just do it for love!)

differentID · 27/01/2009 19:21

My girl cat will sit on command and both will come running of I call their name. Correct cat to correct name.

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 27/01/2009 19:24

My 2 sit on command, and obey a 'stay' command when I'm putting food in their bowls. They won't move until I tap the fork against the tin.

My older cat does the 'fetch' thing with a little ball and bell thing she has.

YouLukaBeautiful · 27/01/2009 19:26

My cat poos JUST outside the litter tray while standing in it. Every time!!
Genius!

Lovesdogsandcats · 28/01/2009 09:10

One of mine chases a ball and brings it back like a dog. He also sits on command.

boredveryverybored · 28/01/2009 09:14

Mine can open all the door handles so is impossible to lock out of a room, I also found her weeing on the toilet a few weeks ago
no idea if she's done it before or since..Or indeed WHY lol
On the other hand she has no common sense and is the first cat I've ever met that never lands on her feet when she falls, just bumps down any which way.

KarlWrenbury · 28/01/2009 09:21

your cat can do a HIGH FIVE?!!!!
Tis is hilarious. One of mine can do retrieval and I thought he was unique!

GrapefruitMoon · 28/01/2009 09:29

One of mine likes eating sweetcorn...

JumpingDizzy · 28/01/2009 09:44

My dog who's cross whippet/collie thinks HE'S a cat Everyone says it. He jumps on peoples knees (but only if they ask him) just like a cat and curls up like one.
He also likes to be cuddled like a baby on my knee, lying on his back. He's just gone 2 so should know better and isn't the right size for it really bless him

I'll post some pics when I get chance.

Hassled · 28/01/2009 09:47

My cats are thick, thick, thick. They can't do any of this stuff. It's all they can manage to grasp the concept of a cat-flap. One of them is 1.5 and only answers to the other cat's name. I feel inadequate now .

PestoMonster · 28/01/2009 09:48

Our cat can play tennis with a bit of paper or little ball. She bats it back to you if you chuck it at her. Really co-ordinated cat

Tidgypuds · 28/01/2009 09:52

I dont have my cats now (long story) but they always came when I whistled wherever they where outside. One of them used to jump up on to my shoulders and lay across them whilst I got on with the housework! A bit like a living fur scarf. Oh I really miss them

Jux · 28/01/2009 09:59

One cat I owned thought that if she stuffed the dead bird she'd got right into her mouth then I would let her in to play with it. I sat on the step to block the cat-flap. She turned her back on me to stuff the bird further into her gob, thus hiding the head as well as the body/feet. Sadly, the wings gave it away. Realising that I wasn't going to let her in yet, she turned away again and managed to stuff one wing into her mouth, then looked at me innocently ("bird? what bird?"). I still wouldn't budge. For the third time, she turned her back and spent aaaaaages trying to get the second wing to fit as well - an impossible task - the bird was bigger than her head! We stayed there for much of that beautiful sunny morning, while she tried to convince me that the bird had never existed

BodyBagBastard · 28/01/2009 10:01

our cat can jump through a hoop 500cm off the floor and complete an agility course.

geordieminx · 28/01/2009 10:02

My mums cat brought in a Koi Carp though he cat flap last month.. it was 10 inches long... and alive... just

Tidgypuds · 28/01/2009 10:04

Jux - LOL

snowleopard · 28/01/2009 10:04

Oh dear. My cat totally useless - she can't catch anything at all. Once she came up to the catflap dragging something that she'd caught with great pride, and laid it before us. It was... an old bread roll.

NorbertDentressangle · 28/01/2009 10:05

boredveryverybored -aah, but the important question is - Did she put the lid down on the toilet afterwards?
