We've had cats for two years and everything has been fine. The cats are confined to one very large space.

yestrday am i opned the door and all i could smell was cat. I don't know if its wee or its been sprayed or whatever you call it. I don't know if it's one or both of the cats or even another cat coming through the cat flap. I searched but didn't find any wet patches. So all day yesterday when it was raining the doors were open to get rid of the smell.

This morning the same thing happened. What can be going on and what can I do?

I did just spot and chase out another cat who was under the table - my cats were just looking at it. I don't think they see it as a threat cos they're was none of the normal hissing noises you hear.

if they haven't done it before i'd lay money on it being a tomcat coming in and spraying. it reeks to high heaven all right and if it sees your house as it's territory (which t will if it has free access) it'll keep doing it.

could you lock the catflap at night so it can't get in?

I could but then how would my cats get out if they need to wee/poo?

litter tray

we've never had a cat flap and just have a tray that they use if they're in at night.

can you still get those cat flaps that are activated by special collars?
