How do i get the piggies to eat the pellets i am trying to change them onto?.I have been mixing a handful of pellets(Supa guinea)with their usual Gertie guinea food. They keep spitting the pellets out to eat the usual food.
TIA

agree with ellenjames!!
our are fussy also, they leave them in their food bowl. and those biscuits things in the mix to, like little cat biscuits. they are bloomin fussy!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/01/2009 22:13

It does take a few weeks if generally increasing the mix and leaving the pellets down for a bit when theyve' eaten the other stuff.

MrsDoylesMole · 18/01/2009 22:18

Ok will persevere with mixing and if not then will leave the pellets down.

Thanks all

ROFL tonight

I can hear them butting the bowl and tipping it up looking for their usual food and in disgust because they have eaten it all and they only have pellets left

MrsDoyle - ideally you do want to wean them onto pellets but if they're simply eating their normal food and leaving the pellets behind its not a problem other than you're probably wasting quite a bit and they're throwing the pellets around?!!!

If they continue to do this just leave them with the pellets - they can be stubborn little creatures but they don't tend to let themselves go hungry and will end up eating the pellets eventually.

Don't worry about it. It's normal behaviour - bit like kids really trying a new different food!

They are naughty piggies.
