sorry kingcanuteiam that wasnt directed at u

thats fair comment its not really an issue if we r not allowed to keep the cat as someone has clearly thrown it out before which is typical.

its a stray cat so the main thing is that it is not in pain.

i maybe see it once or twice a week

I'm a vet, it needs a vet. Nothing I can give on advice unless you are into x-raying it and fixing it yourself.

hunnybun1981 · 16/01/2009 23:01

and would i be right in saying vets dont do home visits?

thanks i think i know he needs to see a vet but what i was saying was does it sound like it s broken or had anyone else had any experience of cats showing similar signs

but thanks i think i will end this discussion

hunnybun1981 are you in the south? if so try the ispca. their number is 1890 515 515.

if you're in the north try cats protection. their number is 90480202.

if neither can help hopefully they will get someone who can. or if you say what county you're in i'll try and find somewhere local for you.

let us know how you get on.

HB, vets have to give emergency treatment to any animal handed in to them even if it is a stray that you are not going to pay for. The rspca imo will be useless, best bet is a cats protection league branch as they will come and catch it and pay for necessary trtmt. do phone someone though as it will be very painful if its not bearing wt.cats really try hard not to show any signs of pain so will be in a lot of pain if limping.

oh, please take it to the vets, the vets are open in the morning. My cat disappears for months on end, comes back and disappears again, I never put him out on the street, he disappeared one day for 2 months and since then we see him every 2-3 months. He chooses to live outside, nothing I can do about it, I have pet insurance for him, and continue to pay it, even though I don't know where he is..
he was shot 2.5 years ago which shattered his leg and he has a slight limp, but I never put him out because I couldn't be bothered, do not say that a stray is because the owner couldn't be bothered, it breaks my heart that my cat doesn't want to be here, but he is being fed well wherever he is, as he is always fat when he returns. I love my cats like my babies, unfortunely he doesn't love me as much...

Are you going to do anything today?

NewAmazingBeginning · 17/01/2009 13:08

hunnybun1981 · 17/01/2009 20:17

hb - if it happens again - mil had stray cat, bad leg, she didn't know what to do.

I told her to ring RSPCA, they came to get it, and it cost her nothing.

Sadly, it had the leg removed, happily, she adopted it and it still limps lives happily ever after.

SparklyGothKat · 17/01/2009 20:25

ah glad he is ok. Bless him..

hunnybun1981 · 17/01/2009 20:34
