Dog fleas...he's scratching a bit could he have fleas?

Dp and I are also itching. Our dog is scratching a bit too.
What's the best thing to do? I suppose I'll need to go to the vets?

yes, the vet can check but you can get Frontline spot-on from some chemists and flea spray for the house from the supermarket.

to check it is fleas- can you see little specks of dirt in your dogs coat? if so, try and scrape some onto damp cotton wool. If it goes pink/red (ie has blood in it) then is definitely fleas. obviously you may also spot the little blighters in the dogs coat
