we had our 6 month old pup spayed on tuesday, they kept her in overnight as she didnt come around from the op as well as they would have liked.we picked her up yesterday afternoon and she was initially pleased to see us but, since we got her home she has been hiding under the couch and will only come out to eat drink and toilet.i realise its been an ordeal for her but didnt expect her to be as bad as this.is there is anything i can do to comfort her ? or should i take her back to the vet?

She may be sore post-operatively from what you say. I would suggest she should see the vets again tomorrow for a check over and maybe some pain relief for a few days if she is still under the weather. She does sound unusual in her slower recovery, but they are all individuals and things may well be fine with her. Keep her nice and warm, often they recover slower if they are cold after an anaesthetic. Spoiling her a little bit with some easy digested foods - chicken or the likes, will not do any harm.
Poor thing - hope she feels better soon.

Give her a few days and she will be back on top form I'm sure. You did the right thing getting it done. Let us know how she is doing.
