Can you not ground it up and put it in her food ??

morningpaper · 02/01/2009 10:47

hahaha

good luck with that

SheherazadetheGoat · 02/01/2009 10:50

its easy. grab by the scruff, force mouth open throw pill to back of throat. hold mouth shut till swallowed.

mysterymoniker · 02/01/2009 10:51

hide it in a bit of cheese?

mine are gifted and talented at carefully eating round any strange powdery stuff, managing all the food and leaving all the tablet in the bowl

This is not atall helpful but may give you back your sense of humour once you have had a fight with the cat!

I also force mouth open, chuck it down the back of the throat and then stoke his neck to make him swallow......all while he is wrapped in a towel.

Good luck!

I did the same as LittleMissNorty-the stroking the neck is important otherwise he would wait and spit it out!

grouchyoscar · 02/01/2009 11:33

Job done

Wrapped her in a duvet, held scruff, opened mouth, pill in, shut mouth, stroke throat and nose til swallowed, release moggy

Got a few hisses for my trouble but hey ho

2 down (crushed yesterday's but she left the food ) and 8 to go

Well done, oscar!!!!!!!!!!!

By day 10 she'll be sitting there with her mouth open, politely waiting for the tablet

piscesmoon · 02/01/2009 11:50

Someone told me that you can buy a device that shoots them straight down the back of the throat, but I haven't seen one.

bella29 · 02/01/2009 11:54

You can:

here

Bit like a syringe with a little piece that the pill sits in. Can be fiddly to use but it gives you an extra inch or so to prevent you being bitten!

grouchyoscar · 02/01/2009 11:54

bella I doubt it very much! The cat is a monster!
