God this is so awful, she wasn't even 2 yet and really was the most loving little girl. Some of you may remember her from back in October when she had her litter of kittens in a neighbouring garden under a pile of scaffolding . she brought back 4 healthy kittens 5 days later and in fact they only went to new homes the week before Christmas.

I went out to the shops and she had just had a special new year breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. When I got back, as I pulled into our road I saw her lying on the pavement. She was a good 100 metres away from home by the main road and I never seen her go that far away. She had blood pouring from her little mouth and was obviously dead although only recently. Her collar was in pieces in the road so it must have been quite an impact. I ran home, got a towel and carried my baby home. We buried her in the garden

DD1 is devastated, luckily dd2 is a bit young to understand. What a god damn awful start to the year. Goodbye my beautiful Boo-Boo cat.

I'm very sorry, as a devoted cat owner myself I am so very sorry.

It sounds like she had a wonderful life, and lovely owners.

you poor, poor love - I remember when this happened to our first cat as well - the road cleaners brought his collar home and wouldn't let Mum see him as they said she really didn't want to. I cried for ages - I was 22, but I had got the cat for mum as a replacement for me leaving home (I think she liked the cat better) and had had him with me for a night before I took him back to my parents' house. Every time I went home for the weekend, he would run to meet me and hang over my shoulder like a fur collar - he was just over a year old, not even fully grown and I vowed never to have a cat again near a road.
for you.
lots of (((hugs)))

Really sorry . This happened to one of our cats of the same age.it dosen't seem fair when they are so young.I said goodbye to his mum, just before christmas she was 19

I don't think your cat suffered at all(If that is any comfort). She was probaly moved out of the road by a kind passer-by. I done this a few weeks ago and I am glad I did. I found it in the road, it had just happened. It was just outside the owners home so I was able to tap on the door and let them know.

It's so sad to loose a pet you love , so much. [hugs]]]

Hangingbellyofbabylon - so sorry to hear about the death of your cat boo boo

whispywhisp · 02/01/2009 15:26

That's so sad. It's hard enough to lose a cat in such tragic circumstances but to lose one so young too.
