a bit like dog loo

Are they any good?

I'm getting a black lab puppy on Sunday and we've got everything else sorted except what the heck do you do with the poo?

We did have one but it wasn't particularly successful for us. It may have been how DH installed it We had to hose it through every weekend which was a bit of a hassle. TBH I just used to pick up the poo every day and stick it in the dustbin (in a bag of course) - probably not what I should've done but there you go.

You have to dig quite a big hole for those loos and fill it with hardcore to allow the poo to drain away like a soakaway.

Good luck with the puppy. My DC are desperate for another dog but are waiting for the car to pass away first but he is determined to break the world record for oldest cat (he's 20 in March).

You are allowed to put in your normal bin.

do you know..my dog has only pooed in the garden when ill with diareah the runs, and thats only been once or twice...she does all her poos out on walks!

Rummum -one of my dogs has never pooed away from the house - ever. I have always wondered why. She's a very submissive dog and I wonder if that has anything to do with it. (Not saying yours is the other way btw!)

RumMum · 26/12/2008 09:53

I've absolutely no idea H1... but I'm not complaining..

my dog only does 2 poos a day.. one on the morning walk and one on the afternoon walk!
how many does yours do?

We have 3 dogs - one being a great dane, the other another giant breed and a cocker spaniel. Lots of poos (well feels like that!). We feed them barf which helps tremendously as poos are minute. Cant really cope when they are on traditional dog food as ar ehten huge and sloppy whilst on barf are hard and small!

TMI I know but you asked. Well, nearly asked.

We had one years ago-never again.
Smelly, you have to rinse it through with loads of water every so often, oh the stench!

Just bag it and bin it.
