Why does my cat only sleep on DS2's bed/pillow?

No one elses bed (3 others to choose from) or pillow and if his door is shut and the others open she will sleep downstairs.

is she particularly close to him when he's awake?

Not really. He adores her but she tolerates him really as he is very hands on.

obvious - tis the comfiest bed (a la Goldilocks)

cats are clever!

you may find that as he gets less grabby, she will adore him. She's staking her territory for further use!
Does he drop any tasty little morsels from lunch for her?

Actually, he would love to share his food with her and has been known to give her the odd bit of his chicken. I have never known a boy love a cat so much.

one of our cat uses ds's bed for daytime naps and dd's bed for sleep at night, lol

there you have it- she loves him.

she hides it well (apart from the bed sleeping)
