I posted a few weeks ago about how my poor old cat died at the advanced age of 19.
I have been offered two kittens which will be ready to leave their mum a few days before Christmas and after much heartsearching I have decided to go for it. There is a big cat-shaped hole in my life and the DC's will be overjoyed to have kittens. However, as we will be away at PIL's over New Year I have asked if we can collect the kittens when we get back.
I thought I should get some paraphernalia and a photo of the kittens for the children to open on Christmas Day so the kittens can be a Christmas surprise for them.
My question is this: what should I get for the kittens to sleep on? My old cat never deigned to sleep on anything specifically designed for that purpose although I bought her numerous beds over the years. I would like to buy a bed for the kittens though and encourage them to use it. Any thoughts on what your cats like to sleep on?

Do you have an old wicker basket my kittens used to cuddle up together in one of mine with a blanket along the bottom.

My friend used a moses basket but I didn't think thia was such a good idea .

Good luck I am very .

How lovely! I always think it's a tribute to the old cat when you get a kitten after they die, as it shows that you can't manage without a cat in your life. I wouldn't bother getting anything special as they'll almost certainly behave exactly like your old cat did: disdain whatever you provide and choose their own sleeping place.... Our cat likes sleeping on my jumpers - I discovered this when I realised he kept following me into the bathroom and curling up on my clothes while I was in the bath. If you've got anywhere particularly warm (next to/underneath a radiator, near warm pipes etc) you could try putting a rug or something there & encouraging them to sleep on it as that's often the sort of place cats will go for anyway.
