Cat deterrent plugin devices - please recommend one?

We have a major issue with my two moggies. DP won't have them in our bedroom. So they sleep outside in the corridor all night and one of them, who is particularly attached to me, starts mewing pathetically at the crack of dawn. This is driving DP nuts - he was caticidal the other night. We can't lock them in any of the downstairs rooms as she still mews, even more loudly, and we can hear her!

So, to save my moggies lives and my relationship, I wondered if plugging in one of those ultrasonic devices would keep the cats downstairs. We have a plugpoint in the upstairs corridor just outside our bedroom door...

So - can anyone tell me, do these work and if so, is there one you can recommend?

Help!

If you have good hearing then those ultrasonic things may well drive you batty! I hate delivering leaflets to houses with them because they are so piercing!

I do have pretty good hearing, but haven't noticed any sounds when I've done delivering, so I hope we may be immune (DD's always had good hearing though - maybe it would keep her downstairs too?) I'm just worried that it may be so strong that they run straight out the house and are never seen again! I've looked at the Cat Repeller 40 which seems a good price, but wonder if these are suitable for indoors.

Poor pussy, she's fast asleep by my side now and totally oblivious to my wicked plan!
