Note to self - she is just a cat.

Recently a boy cat from across the way has been coming near to my cat's cat flap and causing her great distress. It sounds awful when she cries. Both cats have been done. What is going on?

He wants to be friendly and she is scared maybe?

Oh she is definitely scared but then she is scared of a lot of things. I don't know what he wants. About 4 years ago he ran in my lounge when I was BF the baby. I screamed and he ran out. I had never seen him before and only found out a few weeks ago who he belongs too.

I would shoo him away and distract her/remove her from the area.

My dad's cat is scared of everything inside and out.

It is such an awful sound she makes, like she is being really hurt.

I am sure he is trying to get in, or else he has chased her in, as she is inside with all her fur up on end. Her illness means she shouldn't have any stress so this is really awful to deal with.

Does she have a litter tray?

You might be successful in being extremely unfriendly towards the male, but maybe not.

Ginger cat across the street does this to our cat - sits outside at 4am miaowing at her to come out - we invested in a water pistol to scare the cat away. The cat now associates our bedroom window, opening with the water pistol coming out so doesn't do it so much.
