I can't speak for all cats, but we have to be careful about our cats when the loft ladder is down. They were kittens whilst we were moving house earlier this year, during which time the loft ladder was down a lot, because we had to sort out all the stuff that was up there. The kittens went up in the loft every time they could, and on at least one occasion, we had to have all three boys and dh up there to try to get one of them out from his hiding place in the rafters.

Yes the loft is like a kind of Nirvana for ours. There are men up the road replacing sofits with a big one and I am watching it closely.

I think they all can, but some choose not to. We have had an equal split of ladder climbers/non ladder climbers over the years.

I bumped into the builder converting a house on our road last Summer, apparently my cat had been keeping him company up on the scaffolding for most of the time

ROFL at " some choose not to".
Is it like being gay though maybe - you ARE or you arent.
There must be a Venn diagram style overlap for gay ladder climbers and those who choose to stand at the bottom and admire the view.

And we have all known a cat like that.
