Found dog at the Pound - not allowed her for a week - anything I could do?

Have been looking for a little while now and found an ideal dog at one of the cat and dog homes at the weekend.

She is being treated for pyoderma (?) on her tummy. She's getting daily medicated baths and was on a course of antibiotics.

Vet saw her yesterday and although she had improved - she gave her another 7 days antib's and so she's not allowed to come home with us till next Tues. (They're closed on a Monday).

I can't bear the thought of her having another week in the pound - is there anything I could do? I asked if they would let her come home to us on a referral to our local vet and they said no.

Could I ask for them to transfer her to our local SSPCA centre - 20 mins from us instead of an hour. Or 'upgrade' and pay for her to move into their 'lodgers' accomodation.

Or am I being stupid and the dog won't know any difference for another week???

It sounds like she is going to have a fantastic home.

Imo she will be fine for just one more week, try and visit her if you can.

What kind of dog is she? Does she have a name?

She's a collie/spaniel cross. 2-3yo. dh saw her in her cage while I was filling out paperwork and said she was just lying there - not barking like all the others. So maybe she's not stressed or fussed at being in the cage.

She's called Lassie at the moment - but we are going to change it to Cassie if we can.

She sounds lovely, we have a 5 month old collie/spaniel cross, she is lovely but Mad!! Think that the spaniel in her!! She is fantastic with the kids though.
