reptiles as pets with children

we have 3 iguanas in our house 2 are only 6 months old so are still small and we have my one which is 4 years old and nearly 6foot long a lot of people say it is wrong to have them in the house with a baby as my daughter is 8 months old but they are in there vivariums and only come out whne one of us gets them out does anyone else have reptiles as pets with children?

i have a 6 month girl. altogether we have 31 pets including a king snake and 2 terrapins. i do take the snake out and baby likes lokking at him. i dont touch the terrapins , leave that to hubby , but baby loves watching them in their tank. i dont see any problem with kids and any pet as long as we are responsible.
i dont want a kid who is scared of animals and wont touch them. i grew up with pets and i think kids should too. i am planning getting daughter a puppy when she is older
