13 year old labrador with kennel cough

Our 13 year old lab has had 2 strokes in the past year and has now come down with a horrible cough that I think might be kennel cough. We will take him to the vets tomorrow if no improvement. Wish him well.

Thank you for your good wishes. I can't help but think it won't be good news when he goes to the vets. Our lab is becoming incontinent too. His eyes have been getting cloudy for some time (vet states this is normal for an older dog), but today I noticed they have lost their sparkle.

I have two labs aged 1 and 5.

I cant even imagine them getting old

my old dog is same, and is 15, tis hard and sad at this time , cloudy eyes, weeing in the house, and deaf. poor old lady. has antibiotics for presumed kennel cough, and better already

Thinking of you. My old collie had kennel cough at 12 yrs old - it affected his heart and he had to be put down 8 months later. Please be prepared. The first couple of weeks with the cough he was fine and then he went into heart failure. Apparently kennel cough is bad for puppies and older dogs. I didn't realise you could get a vaccine for it.
