Looking for reasonably priced pet insurance

We've had our 2 cats insured with Direct Line for as long I can remember but I've had the renewal through this weekend and it seems like it's getting rather pricey now.
The renewel price works out to around £29 a month, with a £70 excess-I don't even pay that for my car insurance.
Just wondered if anyone can recommend somewhere else to try, please.
Thanks.

for my dogs I went to Confused.com but you really need to be careful about limits of cover - some give x cover for each illness (regardless how long ot lasts)but some give x cover for each illness in one year. the range of prices was amazing though..

We found More Than was best value for our dog.

Aha....
This was me this time last week. Dog insured with Tesco, as was very cheap a year ago. Renewal came through, they doubled the price, so I go onto the tinternet to seek cheaper company. I found E&I cheap, so phoned Tesco this morning to cancel old policy. They have just bent over backwards to keep me. I am staying with Tesco now. The same thing has also just happenned with my car insurance. Got cheaper quote elsewhere, More Than cut their price to keep me.

My advice to you is get some other prices and call your existing company and haggle with them, tell them you will leave if they can't offer you a better price.

Let me know what they say.

Thanks, that's all very interesting.I didn't realise Confuse.com did pet insurance aswell-I shall have a look on there later when the dc are in bed and let you know the outcome.

LloydsTSB - dog has had £4k of treatment, we were paying £13 a month and has now gone down to £12 as we didn't claim last year.
