How many cats is too many?

We have 3 cats (2 are 8 years old, one is 2 years old) and an 8mo gorgeous DS.

I'd love more cats, but I'm not sure if we could handle it!

How many cats is too many?

Oh no! It works if there is just one pampered lump inside, all neutered and everything and keep the rest outside. They seek their own territories and the barn cats were sleeker and healthier than the pampered one.
We are lucky that we are well off the road as there is nothing sadder than seeing a cat hit by a car.

I have . They are fab but I wouldn't want any more, personally. One is 11 and the other is 1, we got the 2nd one as an 8wk old kitten and my older boy hated him with a passion. They get on well now but I think if I were to try it again with a 3rd cat/kitten he would leave ! So my decision to stop at 2 is more to do with the welfare of my existing cats than anything else.

TBH, my view on this is the same as the 'how many kids' question - So long as you can afford to keep them and the welfare of the others is not compomised then have as many as you like !

Also I do like cats, BUT somehow find 'gangs'(ie more than 2 ina room at a time) of acts a bit creepy.

I have two cats, two dogs, a pbudgie, a parrot and a rabbit. Plus some tropical fish but they are dh's.

My opinion is that as long as you can look after them and given them attention then there's no such thing as too many. The only animal I would draw the line at a number would be dogs as dogs need lots of attention and it's just not possible to give adequate attention to too many dogs.

I knew someone who had 7 dogs and she just didn't have the time to walk them/play with them etc. And so many dogs make a pack which really isn't wise.
