Where can I get one of those heat pads to keep the tank warm and are they expensive to run?

If they have hibernated will they wake up or have I killed them? I've only had them 2 weeks!

DD says best way to wake them is to run their shells under warm water - this has worked well for hers in the past. "try her for your heat matwww.medusaexotics.co.uk/"

Thanks - I almost posted this message directly to your dd!

Most pet shops do them. We have had some GALs a while, they do snooze of for a while occasionally, have also notice they get a bit quiet when they lay eggs and also if its really hot.

Mine used to hibernate when their soil and tank was too dry. I haven't noticed them doing so in the cold, and we don't have any heating on.

Try new compost, make sure it's damp enough.

I like the way that when you get their conditions right they are much more active, and mine hang upside down from the tank lid when they are happy.

LoL, DD would have loved that! She also says to check for eggs and that they can stay in hibernation for upto a month but says it's best to wake them up and to make sure the soil is damp but not wet.
