Hi
I have a cat that is just 6 months old I have had him since he was just 2 months.
I now have the urge to get my ds a puppy has I think it would be good for him.
Would it be wise, will my cat and the puppy get on or will they fight.
My sister next door has a dog and although my cat sometimes goes into her house it is very wary of the dog and hisses at it if it comes to close to him.
Her dog also sometimes chases my cat.
What do fellow mumsnetters think any experiences of having a cat and then introducing a puppy into the household does it work out.

Usually fine but think of all the dog hair and paper training and walking the god-damn thing daily.

Just kidding, kindof yes it will be fine, no worries. Cat will be bigger than dog no doubt... I have 3 cats and 1 dog. They are fine. 2 house-cats, one live in shed cat and one dog. they play together well.

I think the cat & the puppy would be fine, but if you haven't had dogs before be aware that they are a much bigger commitment than cats & can't be left alone as long as a cat can.
