We have 2 guinea pigs ourselves so we know a fair bit about them.
We are looking after my friends guinea pig and Rex rabbit.
When they bought them over to our house they bought the cage for the guinea and the rabbit has gone into our outdoor guinea cage, although we have the run to let him out too.
They only bought the food and some carrots and a big bag of straw.
No sign of any hay and the guineas poo was light brown,so we presume they have been feeding him straw(4 years)
I thought they couldnt and shouldnt eat straw?
How can i mention this to my friend tactfully?
We have been feeding him hay and he has some for bedding too.Since then his poo has gone black like our guineas poo(although it is twice as long)

What can i feed the rabbit other than carrots?
Any rabbit info i should know about?
I thank you

did they bring rabbit food?
rabbits have very sensitive tummies and changeds to their main food can be dangerous.

I'd stick with whatever they have given you for it.

they also need a constant supply of food, they like to graze all day

Ah yes they bought a bag of rabbit food
How often should i be checking his food?
When we went out this morning it had all gone from the night before.

Sadly, our last guinea pig died recently - we had kept piggies for years and never used straw - always hay.

Sorry to hear about your piggie
Will you get another one?

Thanks - I think that was our last piggie as DD is now 16 and would like to go to uni. BUT you never know!

You could get one just for you
