Crawling beasties from/on cat - what are they???

We've been away for a few days and DH has been in charge of the cat. DD has just called me into her bedroom to find tiny thread-like wriggly things all over a blanket the cat has been sleeping on Anyone got any idea what they might be?
Have just dumped blanket, various toys and DD's bedding in the washing machine but cat sleeps on sofa too so off to get hoover out. Do I need to go into manic cleaning mode or not?

Worms?

Any idea what kind though? Harmless or dose the whole family up type ones?

Sounds like worms. Vets have pills for that.

Yeucchh. (I once had a cat with ring worm and thread worm. She came from the CPL. It was horrible.) Good luck.

yes, they're a bit like kids sometimes

They could be the larval stage of fleas too. Get frontline that should kill them off whatever they are - and lasts for several weeks.

Yes we've had ringworm and threadworms curtesy of DC already this year

They so common and it really shouldn't be a big deal but worms really are a bit creepy aren't they?

Any idea if house is now infested or will larvae die off before turning into big fat monsters (hopeful emoticon needed!)

Iirc the threadworm medicine says you can't catch worms from animals - just soil and other people - but I would double check that. I have only seen flea eggs/poo/fleas I didn't know they did larvae too!

Am now doomed to spend rest of summer (and beyond) spotting minute crawly things - bloody cat

You can buy an aerosol spray thing from the vets that you can spray on your carpets etc. to stop the fleas from hatching. It is expensive but it will help stop your cat being reinfested and give you peace of mind! We used it when we moved house and realised there were fleas in our rug!!

(you can not put it directly on cat, for household use only)
