If the pup's paw heals at all it will be a miracle!

"Don't let him jump up on people"
"Don't let him climbu upstairs"
"Don't let him jump on the furniture", all of course perfectly reasonable under the circumstnaces, but trying to get an 18week puppy not to jump up when he sees us is a nightmare.
last night he somehow got out of his (locked) crate and came upstairs - thankfully not fast becasue he was hindered due to teh buster collar.

Looks like a collie on your profile saltire - loads of energy and bounce then! Our dog cut a pad open a few months back and it knitted back together within 3 days. Was still sore but past the point of re-opening.

Good luck.

What's he called?

saltire · 27/06/2008 21:38

He's called Jambo - don't ask. I know he needs to get rest, and he is, he has a little room with a big duvet in which he ahs lain in pretty much all day. he also ahs a crate, for nights. However, he needs fed and toileted,a dn whenever we go near him he tries to jump up, and I'm really worried it won't heal. Poor wee thing, he broke all4 metatarsils in his paw.
He is backt ovets on Tuesday to get dressing changed, so hopefully it may be a smaller dressing that is put back on. he needs this on for 4-8 weeks, I'll be grey haired by the time it's finished

Well he has managed to get his buster collar off 3 times in the past hour!
