Cat litter recommendations

Since getting our two kittens it feels like we’re using cat litter wrong… we’ve been buying Breeders Choice recycled paper and the pee soaks through so many pellets each time that I’m replacing an entire tray of cat litter every other day. Is that right? Any other cat litter suggestions? I’m thinking of going with clumping cat litter to reduce the pee spreading so much but I also don’t want the litter spreading easily across our house, so absorbent low-tracking recommendations welcome.

We just get the cheap saver stuff from Morrisons for our lot. No problems. Just scoop out the wet stuff.

World’s best cat litter. I wouldn’t use anything else.

We use clearPettex Silica Cat Litter Granules and get it on repeat from Amazon. A bag lasts about 10 days for our two cats who share a litter tray. No smell - the neighbour who looked after the cats whilst we were away said it must work well as she couldn’t smell it.

I use wood pellets with no issues from Pets at home. But after getting a few brands I realised the best, that didn’t smell was the one with a dark blue bag with a cat head’s contour on the front. I buy them when they are in offer, 2 for £20. I also use softer litter trays from the same shop, £20 each.

I tried clumping litter, which is great for scooping out wee and poo, but doing a full litter tray change was a nightmare as it would stick to the tray like cement and I couldn’t get it clean.

I use wood pellets (I order a 10KG bag from Amazon for around £11-12). They last about 4-6 weeks and that’s for two adult cats, doing a full litter tray change every two days (I scoop in between). Really easy to clean.

After trying tens of them, some that tracked everywhere (cats best and worlds best), some that were cheap (clumps didn’t hold), we found Intersand Classic and have never looked back.

no dust, no tracking, cost isn’t too high comparative to length of time needed before changing. You can’t smell wee or poo in it, and the clumps don’t break.

28kg for £36 on bitiba. We buy 2 so that we have free delivery. You will only need to change the litter every 3 weeks (for us with 2 cats using 2 trays) so a bag will last quite a long time for you.
