I do porrige weetabix, or scrambled eggs and rice.

emiliadaniel · 23/06/2008 10:46

I think this thread explains why vets see so many animals with diarrhoea. Let her wait until lunchtime.

Saymyname · 23/06/2008 10:48

I have to say, I don't give my dogs "people food". The occasional slice of wholemeal bread maybe, but that's it.

Dalrymps · 23/06/2008 21:47

Fair enough, she's sensible anyway, didn't eat the cereal I gave her and had her bakers complete at lunchtime. Oh and by the way, she doen't get any tit bits normally and only eats dry dog food and has never had diarrhoea but thanks for the concern

mine usually has dry dog food as well, it's a v v rare occassion I run out of food for them.

ilovemydog · 23/06/2008 23:50

rice

twinsetandpearls · 23/06/2008 23:58

I gave my springer a pork chop with lots of gravy tonight and he loved it, this morning he had scrambled eggs with me.

Does anyone that feeds their dog on WAGG live anywhere near me? I've got some to get rid of(not loads, but seems a shame to waste it).

twinsetandpearls · 24/06/2008 00:04

where are you solo. I don't even know what WAGG is but our dog eats anything.

solo · 24/06/2008 00:05

It's dry food. I'm SE London/Kent borders.

twinsetandpearls · 24/06/2008 00:06

We are in the northwest never mind.

solo · 24/06/2008 00:08

My poor old doggie died 3 weeks ago and so it is sitting in the storage barrel. Probably only a carrier bag full, but I don't want to throw it out.

solo · 24/06/2008 00:09

Ah well...Anyone else?

twinsetandpearls · 24/06/2008 00:11

Oh I am sorry solo.

solo · 24/06/2008 00:12

Thank you...It's ok. I'm ok now(ish)she was 13...We do miss her though.

colditz · 24/06/2008 01:11

I was under the impression that dogs are quite capable of skipping a meal, as are most animals, people included. It wouldn't hurt her to be peckish, most Britsh pets are porky anyway.

Dalrymps · 24/06/2008 08:52

Yeah she is a little porky, she survived anyway and is back on her bakers nowb

My dog was a grazer and had food down all the time. She'd often go a couple of days without eating - especially during the Summer months...though it was her choice.

Cavycare · 29/06/2008 03:13

If I run out of food, which reminds me I forgot to buy their food tday typical. Just about enough left but what I do if I do run out is boil rice (white or brown is fine or a mixture of both) and add some chicken or other meat. An actual recipe is a cup full of rice one grated carrot and one grated courgette and some chicken. Boil the rice and a few mins before it is cooked add the carrot and courgette it's important to ensure it's grated and cooked through for easy digestion. Then mix it with some cooked chicken or turkey mince or beef mince etc. You can add a table spoon of Marmite for taste. My two scoff it minus the marmite.
