How do you keep dog hair off the sofa without vacuuming constantly?

I love my dog to bits but the amount of hair on the sofa is driving me mad lately

Especially after walks or when he’s been sleeping on the couch all evening.

I vacuum almost every day but somehow there’s still hair everywhere on cushions and blankets.

Has anyone found something that genuinely helps reduce pet hair around the house without spending hours cleaning?

Would love simple real-life tips that actually work.

This is why we have a leather sofa and a robot hoover/mop

It's one of the main reasons we don't have a dog. Got utterly fed up of all the mess/cleaning required so we just havn't had one for years and have no intention of getting one again.

A leather sofa helps. Best tip of all though, embrace the fact you have a dog who adores you, a bit of pet hair really is not important in the scheme of things..

I have two dogs and have had leather sofas for this reason.

This. We had a (now sadly departed) hairy dog. He was never allowed on the sofa 🤷‍♀️

We always kept our dogs off the sofa.

Haha true
I think I’ve reached the “accept the dog hair as part of life” stage at this point.

A robot hoover is honestly starting to sound more and more tempting

We tried for a while but somehow he always ends up sneaking back onto the sofa

At the time we got ours we had two cats and two dogs (one of each had long hair too) and a SEN toddler and it was a total game-changer. We now have only two pets and the child has grown a bit, but with trying to fit housework around working and doing a degree, I would not want to be without my robot! It's programmed to start the clean daily just as we put DS to bed, and by the time we come downstairs the floor is spotless. It wouldn't sort the sofa issue, of course, but not having to think about cleaning thd floor means we have more time for other cleaning tasks.

We bought a sofa with a chaise, the chaise is his.

Honestly the robot hoover suggestions are tempting me now
I also found a few surprisingly useful tips recently for removing pet hair from sofas/cushions (the rubber glove trick actually worked better than I expected):
