Cat collars and tracking devices

Is there a cat collar out there that cats don’t want to take off and can someone recommend a tracking device?

My cat wears a Tractive collar. He doesn't mind it, but I am sure if he did, it would be off. It is quite chunky.
He has come home without it a few times, but all but once, we located it.

We use tractive as well - well worth the money IMO

our girls have a Petracer collar each, because it’s a collar and not a big box it doesn’t bother them at all. It’s fairly expensive but it has GPS and radio signals.

My friend uses Apple AirTags on her cats. Not fully location specific, but it gives her a very good idea where they are!

I tried Tractive but it kept coming off. I had to knock on people's doors to search their back garden for the cat's collar, not all neighbours are amenable to this (understandably) so we gave up on it.

My cat takes her collar off. She’s very wiggly. To change the question a little, has anyone tried catios or cat netting in their garden?
