Chemotherapy for a cat?

Looking for advice. My 13-year-old cat has been diagnosed with cutaneous lymphoma. She just had a lump removed from her back and the vet says they have got all of the tumour.
He has advised me to put her on capsules for chemotherapy. Has anyone got any experience of giving pets chemotherapy? How sick did the treatment make them and would you recommend it?
At the moment my cat seems perfectly normal she isn’t in any pain. She is eating drinking playing and cuddling as normal and I am worried that chemotherapy will just make her feel really ill and potentially cause other problems. Cutaneous lymphoma is a very rare cancer so nobody really knows the best course of treatment for it. We also don’t know if her cancer has spread and I’m not even sure how they would tell this anyway. I did ask the vet but he was pretty vague on this point.
If anyone has any experience of something similar, I’d be very grateful to hear it. I should add that the cost isn’t an issue at all. I’m pretty certain her insurance will cover any further treatment and even if it didn’t, I would pay it anyway.

Not me, but one of my friends has a cat on chemo.
Has been on it a couple of years. No side effects (vet said it doesn't tend to affect them same as humans).
Only issue is cat has to go to cattery rather than someone popping in to feed her if friend goes away as it's the only way to be sure the cat has her pill.

Hi Op my cat had chemotherapy when he was just six months old for multiple lymphoma and it meant he was in remission. He was very drowsy from the sedation and had some sore patches on his paws . It worked really well and didn’t seem to cause him much bother.

Sorry forgot to add my cat had IV chemo rather than tablets. I think it’s worth doing.
