Our dear dog 'Tigg' was near the end of his life. 15.
Has a mass by his prostate vet thinks he is in pain so gave him gabapentin and a anti inflammation injection.
Yesterday we got up early and drove to our nearest beach. 1 1/2 hours drive.
He was so excited running in the sea saw another dog and played for a few minutes. Even got him an ice-cream.
Then he lay down and wouldn't move.
We carried him back to the car I sat in the back with him he was cuddling me I was crying and kissing him telling him that we all loved him and will miss him.
DH drove back to the arranged appointment at the vets.
Coming back from the vets without him was awful. House is so quiet even though he hardly barked.

I'm so sorry. xx
But yes, I think he enjoyed it.
Do you have photographs?

Sounds like he had a lovely time until he could do no more. What a gift for him to have that enjoyment @Shitwithsugar. It’s so hard on us when they go, be kind to yourself.

You gave him the best day. He went to sleep happy and this will sustain you over the next few weeks, I promise.

letting them go is the last and greatest act of love we give them.
