cat eating bread and cake

Hi ive got an 11 month old cat,ever since we got her shes eaten bread/toast etc.She loves it! doesnt matter if its brown,white or even garlic bread she loves it all.I just wanted to know if this is ok? could there be something wrong with her.She was spayed in february but hasnt changed.

I've had a few cats that have enjoyed bread products...my girlcat licks toast and croissant crumbs off plates if you leave them lying around. No idea if there are any health risks or anything, but IME lots of cats have dustbin tendencies. My boycat goes mental for curry and pasta.

Thanx for your replies. she acts like shes addicted or something.she wont lick crumbs though it has to be chunks! As soon as she hears the toaster we have to hold her back.

My cat won't eat bread but seems to have some sort of liking for lemon flavour (i.e. lemon yoghurt, lemon cheesecake etc). I thought cats were supposed to be repelled by citrus?!

Very true. My old cat was obsessed with crisps and guacamole. Freak!

Cat favourites around here are marmite on toast, sweetcorn and broccoli. One of our old cats also had a thing for potato peelings, would sit on the side of the sink and drool if the potatoes came out!

Our cat loves bread. I had a cat who ate anything with tomatoes and garlic! Another cat ate cold boiled potatoes and peas.

Also she licks the flavouring of crisps and sometimes eats the crisps too. Her favorite r chilli doritos

Mine liked the odd baked bean.

My cat loves crisps, especially cheese & onion. He also likes madeira cake, custard, bacon, chips and ice cream. I know of another cat who used to like chinese takeaways.

My girl cat loves naan bread. Despite the fact that the bread is more than half her size she still tries to take the whole thing off the plate and run away with it!

She's also partial to my Grandma's mince pies at Christmas time.
