Searching for a non-drafty cat flap

Niche question but just that really. House with limited options for cat flap placement (no conservatory or obvious alternatives). Current cat flap is very old and unlockable, opens directly into the kitchen and is a heat retention disaster.

The cat doesn't have a collar and we'd prefer not to go down the radio controlled route if possible, just to spend more to get something snugger and less 🥶 Any recommendations gratefully received.

We have one which is controlled by our cats chip. We have two cats and the flap is programmed to both chips. It’s a Sureflap and we’ve been really happy with it.

I think most flaps today are microchip controlled. Er have the Sureflap with App (that had never consistently worked)

There is an element of not totally shutting out the drafts, but you can get covers for them. We use ours at night when the cats are locked in

Also have SureFlap and zero draughts. You can turn off the microchip functionality if you dont want to use it (it turns off automatically when the batteries run out - as happened when we were on holiday once and we came home to find 2 cats chilling on the sofa - ours were at the cattery!)

Thanks for the advice - maybe we've been too quick to dismiss microchips. We'll buy the Sureflap and give it a go!
