New animal welfare bill - docked tails?

I'm wondering if anyone knows much about the new animal welfare bill that's maybe getting introduced from January - specifically regarding docked tails. We'll be moving back to the UK in a year and have a springer with a docked tail (not our choice, it was docked when we got him!!). We already have his travel booked.

There seems to be quite a lot of confusion over whether this will impact owners bringing their pets into the country or whether it is just for breeders etc. Or if there will be exclusions eg older dogs/already neutered/clearly pets.

It's got me stressing but there's too many mixed answers floating around.

From a quick Google it looks like you can still bring docked dogs into the UK but you will need proof that they were docked by a vet and not "the tail fairy".
