So my 10 year old cat has not stopped scratching. I always give him Advocate from the vets but it dosnt seem to stop him. I noticed too down his spine he had tiny scabs which I can scratch off with my finger nails. I wash his bedding when it's treatment time. I'm wondering if the Advocate is rubbish. Any help please.
He is OK in himself just the scratching.

Not a cat but my puppy had similar and was diagnosed with dermadetic mange. I’ve just googled that cats can get this too. Advocate didn’t touch it but bravecto ( I think that’s what it’s called) eventually cured it. The vet needs to do a simple skin scrape to diagnose. My puppy’s spots eventually became secondarily infected so please just get it checked out as not expensive and if mites are present can be seen immediately

I'm sorry OP, I've recent had something similar. Have you got a flea comb (less than a fiver on Amazon)?

Though it is pretty gross!
