Cat returned from cattery I’ll

My cat was in a cattery for two weeks and returned with vomiting and diarrhoea. The cattery deny she was ill. The vet did blood tests early this week, a scan of her tummy and said everything was clear. They rehydrated her on an IV drip overnight. Still being sick and diarrhoea I took her to a new vet who gave her a steroid, antibiotic, appetiser via injections injection and I have a paste to give her to support her gut microbiome. He also took a urine sample and said there’s a tiny bit of protein but nothing concerning/that would cause a UTI so she’s clear. The vet was bit perplexed having examined her and said it could be the stress of being in a cattery for the first time. She still has diarrhoea a week since picking her up from the cattery. Has anyone else experienced this? She’s on my 1 years and healthy. Has anyone experienced a stressed cat following cattery? Any tips?

Sorry to hear about your cat. Did the cattery use their own food to feed your cat or did you provide your own cat food to feed?
If they fed them a different food maybe thats caused to upset stomach perhaps?

My cats have previously gone into a cattery and ive had option but I know my cats have very sensitive stomachs so provided their own.
Mine also refused to eat for days when there

Thanks for your reply. The cattery fed her the same food and I don’t think she ate much as lost 1kg whilst there.

In that case sounds like maybe it’s mainly a stress reaction. Hope she gets back to normal quickly!

I agree with stress. Dfurbrain pulled all the fur off her back legs last time she went to the cattery. I pay a teen a tenner a day to come in feed and pet her now.
