How long have they been missing?

Have you posted this in your local Facebook groups?

WonderfulSmith · 28/08/2025 18:18

You poor thing, they are a worry. There will be a local Facebook page that will be more help I’m sure.

Google missing cat and follow all the suggestions. There's loads including going out in the night at quiet hours so they can hear you and you can hesr if they miaow. Spreading their litter at the edge of your garden or just putting the litter tray outside so they can smell it better can help lead them home.

I searched for threads on mumsnet too and found lots of encouraging stories.

Our cat went missing 36 hours soon after we moved overseas and I was terrified but he found his way home!

I've read if you pop their litter try outside they can smell it and helps them find their way home. Hope you find them soon x

One of my tabbies occasionally goes AWOL for 3 or 4 days at a time.

They often skulk back in when it’s quiet. Have you been out at night locally calling and listening for her? Shake a packet of Dreamies, if she usually responds to that.

Everything crossed she’ll be home soon.

Get out at night with a torch and search trees (my cat went missing for 2 days - this is how I found him! 2 glowing eyes glaring back at me he got himself stuck up a tree in the local park!) also search bushes etc, litter tray, used blankets etc outside. Everything crossed for you ❤️

It’s really common for them to scare you like this. They nearly always turn up within a week or so says the receptionist at our vets. If you’ve done a few loops of your area and not seen evidence of them being run over that’s a really, really good sign. Mine have both disappeared for 2-3 nights. One was trapped in the gardens at the end of the road and was unable to work his way back (unusual road layout) and the other was actually in the ceiling. Put some litter or bedding in your front and back garden as the smell can help them find their way back.

Hi @YasminK2 ,

Oh she's beautiful. We had a Bengal and she was very vocal, so hopefully if Amber is trapped somewhere she'll make herself known.

You've probably already done this but have you spoken to ALL of the local vets? Council? Microchip company (in case someone else tried to register her)?

There's also a website called DogLost who - despite the name - will take details of cats too. They're very proactive and will send her details out to volunteers in your area.

I really hope she comes strolling back in soon.

I have been thinking about you, OP. Any news?
