Low key hostility

After losing my cat to cancer I have been dealing with many white women who run the rescues and feeling an uneasy sense of hostility. They're putting barriers in my path and denying my application. So now I am considering purchasing a cat from a breeder, I know its wrong but this is the second time in my life I've gotten this inexplicable contempt.

Sure all them pesky white women stopping you adopting a cat.

It’s not “low key hostility” from “white women”. As you would see from the multiple threads on this issue, it’s over zealousness by animal rescues with over the top rules who then complain there’s not enough people wanting to adopt. I am a white woman and had exactly the same issue from a number of centres so had to buy from someone also. Not ideal but the rescue centres are causing this issue. I also found some of them to be quite snotty and rude with me about my enquiries. There’s absolutely no need for it, but had nothing to do with the fact they are white or women.
